Pope Francis will visit Washington DC on September 22-24. The Pope will visit the White House on Wednesday, and the U.S. Capitol on Thursday. He will also celebrate afternoon Mass on the east portico of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at 4:15 pm on Wednesday. Tickets to this event and the other few public events were already distributed, and are hard to come by. The best chance for the public to see the Pope is after his scheduled 9 a.m. visit with President Obama at the White House on Wednesday Sept. 23, when he drives along the National Mall. There are no tickets required to see the Pope along the Mall, but expect to pass through security. Those security gates will open at 4 a.m. and no one will be allowed to enter the secure area after 10 a.m. See the links below for a full itinerary, and other information.
