Washington DC Metro Weekend Service Information for April 18-19, 2020

Metro Train

Washington, DC Metro track work information is available to help visitors and riders plan ahead for weekend travel changes. Metro is investing in the reconstruction of its Metrorail system, and track work is expected on most weekends. Weekly updates are provided to inform travelers which lines are affected. This is a weekly press release provided by Metro. Service changes continue through closing on Sunday night.

Weekend service changes, according to Metro:

“Highlights:

Metrorail will operate from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. For your safety, customers should wear cloth face coverings while riding Metrorail and Metrobus.

  • Red Line: Trains every 20 minutes
  • Orange Line: Trains every 36 minutes, West Falls Church station is closed
  • Silver Line, Blue Line, Yellow Line, Green Line: Trains every 30 minutes

In addition to West Falls Church, 19 of Metro’s 91 rail stations are closed.

Weekday service adjustments

Red Line

Trains every 20 minutes

Orange Line

  • Due to Platform Improvement Project preparation:
    • Trains will operate every 36 minutes.
    • Trains will single track between Vienna and East Falls Church.
    • West Falls Church station will be closed.
    • Free shuttle bus service will be provided between Dunn Loring and West Falls Church via MetroAccess vans.

Trains every 30 minutes

Blue Line

Trains every 30 minutes

Yellow Line

Trains every 30 minutes

Trains every 30 minutes

    On Sunday August 6, what do you anticipate the time required to travel from Shady Grove to Verizon Center, departing Shady Grove at 12:30 PM?
