Dash through history during the area’s most unique 10K/5K, presented by Lockheed Martin on September 9, 2018. The race course, certified by USA Track & Field, takes runners up and down the scenic George Washington Memorial Parkway and traces Washington’s footsteps through the historic grounds at Mount Vernon. Take a finisher photo with General Washington and enjoy concessions, music, and beer. There will be an awards ceremony for the top finishers, including cannons firing on the 12-Acre Field.
Finishers receive a 2018 5K or 10K George Washington medal and t-shirt, commemorating the first president who was “first in the hearts of his countrymen.” Registration is $50 until September 2. The registration fee increases to $60 on September 3. Spectators looking to access the finish line on the estate must purchase a spectator ticket for a special discounted price of $10.
Children can join the fun and receive their own medal during the free Kids Fun Run. The free, quarter-mile race occurs on Mount Vernon’s historic grounds (registration required).
