Washington Capitals Stanley Cup Victory Parade in Washington DC

On Tuesday, June 12, 2018, the Washington Capitals will celebrate winning the 2018 Stanley Cup Championship with a parade in downtown Washington, D.C. The parade will begin at 11 am at Constitution Avenue and 17th Streets NW and will proceed along Constitution Avenue to 7th Street NW where it will turn right and culminate in an ALLCAPS rally at 7th Street NW and the National Mall.

The parade is free and open to all members of the public.

Parking Restrictions

7th Street, NW Parking Restrictions:

  • 7th Street will be Emergency No Parking from 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11 through 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12 from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • 7th Street will be closed from Constitution Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW during the same time.

Parade Emergency No Parking:

All other Emergency No Parking times will be in effect from 6:30 pm on Monday, June 11 through 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12, including:

  • Constitution Avenue, NW from 6th Street to 23rd Street, NW
  • 9th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to I-395
  • 10th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW
  • 12th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW
  • 14th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • 15th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • 17th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
  • 18th Street from New York Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW
  • 19th Street from Virginia Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW

The public should expect parking restrictions in the area and should be guided by the posted emergency no parking signage. All vehicles that are parked in the area and in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed. These vehicles will be relocated to legal spaces. Motorists whose vehicles are towed should call (202) 541-6083.

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions. Motorists will encounter delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) also wish to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.

Traffic Restrictions

The following streets will be closed from 9:30 am on Tuesday, June 12 through 3 pm on Tuesday, June 12:

  • Inbound 14th Street Bridge Main Line – all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
  • Inbound 14th Street Bridge HOV – all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
  • Northbound 12th Street Tunnel – all traffic will be directed toward Eastbound I-395
  • Eastbound Theodore Roosevelt Bridge – all traffic will be directed toward E Street Expressway/Potomac River Freeway
  • Southbound 9th Street Tunnel
  • Constitution Avenue, NW from 6th Street to 23rd Street, NW
  • 9th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to I-395
  • 10th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW
  • 12th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Constitution Avenue, NW
  • 14th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW

Bike Access

DDOT will extend bike corral hours until 3:00 p.m. to create additional parking for Capital Bikeshare bikes.
