Memorial Day is a national holiday to honor the service of our military men and women, and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. In Washington, DC there are several wreath-laying ceremonies and other events in honor of these veterans.
Wreath-Laying Ceremonies
Arlington National Cemetery
At 10 a.m., the U.S. Army Military District of Washington will conduct a Presidential Armed Forces Full Honor Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This ceremony will be followed by an observance program in Memorial Amphitheater, hosted by the Department of Defense. This event is closed to the public.

Rolling Thunder/Rolling to Remember
On May 30, 2021, Rolling to Remember will conduct a motorcycle demonstration to raise awareness of the critical issues facing our nation’s veterans and demand action for the 82,000 service members missing, as well as raise awareness of the 22 veterans who die by suicide each day.
